Federal officials are ordering a Sparks company to stop selling a pesticide that is in violation of federal law and potentially harmful to humans. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has issued the order to prevent WellPlant from continuing to distribute or offer for sale Mold Manager. The product prevents mold, mildew, algae and moss. The EPA had requested that the Nevada Department of Agriculture inspect the companies’ Sparks facility and test the product. The EPA found that the Mold Manager product, which is made in Oregon, was unregistered, mislabeled and could cause people harm.
