Students at Pine Middle School will go back from winter break two weeks later than originally scheduled, after the school was heavily damaged by a water leak. Classes will resume Monday, January 25th, to give workers time to complete repairs at the school. 95 percent of the first floor suffered damage when a 4” water pipe separation was discovered December 26. To make up the missed time, the school day will be extended by 15 minutes between then and Spring Break, March 18th. A pair of community meetings for Pine Middle School families will be held Wednesday, January 6, at Smithridge STEM Academy across the street from Pine Middle School.
