Douglas County Sheriff’s Office dealt with a stick of what appeared to be dynamite Wednesday, in a dumpster on the 13 hundred block of Centerville Road in Gardnerville. The County Explosive Ordinance Disposal team responded and determined the item was an old smoke grenade-gopher bomb. The smoke grenade has been safely recovered and will be disposed of by the EOD team. They also want to remind you if a suspicious item is located, don’t touch it; contact the proper authorities immediately.
