Washoe School Police say a code red lockdown at Spanish Springs High School is over, as is a precautionary code yellow at nearby Shaw Middle School. The investigation began late Tuesday morning when students at the high school overheard a conversation indicating a student may be taking a gun to school. When police were notified, all classrooms were locked down and students outside were moved inside while police searched the campus. Police determined the student in question had never gone to school for the day; he was located off campus and police are talking to him, and his parents.
