March is Music in Our Schools Month, but not every child can afford to fall in love with music. So a Washoe County School District program is helping give students a chance to experience a music education. It’s a free after school program, called the Reno Philharmonic Kids Program. The classes are four days a week at no charge to the student or family so children can learn how to play instruments like the violin and cello.Currently 200 students are enrolled in the Reno Phil Kids Program at four schools.
