A developer, who’s planning a 54 million dollar apartment complex in the downtown area, wants $100,000 from the city’s “blight fund,” to help with the project. The block long apartment complex will sit on Center Street, between 6th and 7th, and that area is considered blighted by the city. If the city doesn’t give the blight funds to the developer, the money will go back into the general fund to pay for police operations, park maintenance, and other projects.
