There’s a new undersheriff in town. Washoe County Sheriff Chuck Allen has appointed Chief Deputy Susan Schilling Undersheriff. Allen also appointed former Patrol Captain Frank Schumann to Chief Deputy over the Detention Bureau. Undersheriff Schilling began her law enforcement career in 1998 as a Nevada Parole and Probation Officer in Las Vegas. In 2005, she was promoted to Lieutenant and transferred to the Nevada Highway Patrol. In 2014, she became the first female promoted to the rank of Major-Deputy Chief. She joined the Sheriff’s Department as Chief Deputy last year.
