The Nevada State Education Association and the Parent Teacher Association are announcing that both organizations are endorsing Question 1, The Background Check Initiative. The measure would close the so called “Gun Show Loophole,” and require criminal background checks on all gun sales in Nevada. Ruben Murillo, Jr., President of the N-S-E-A says Nevada’s students deserve safe schools, and as educators they’re committed to doing all they can to help ensure the safety of our students and the people who work in schools. Currently in Nevada, only licensed gun dealers are required to conduct criminal background checks on gun sales.
