Despite hot and windy conditions,  a rapid response held a brushfire burning off California Hghway 89, about 6 miles north of Truckee, to just six acres. The fire burned in the Sagehen Experimental Forest Area. The winds in Truckee Wednesday afternoon were about 28 mph. Truckee Fire District , USFS, CDF, and Northstar Fire crews responded. The fire posed no threat to homes.
