Brushfire Stopped Quickly In North Reno

Reno fire crews stopped a brush fire in a field near the SPCA on Spectrum Boulevard in north Reno. It burned on Red Peak toward broadcast towers, but was stopped in that direction before flames got that far.
There is no word yet on a cause. No homes or other buildings were  in danger from the flames, which were first reported about 11AM. The fire grew to less than five acres, according to the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, which fought the flames with Reno Fire.
