Taylor and Kelley Win School Board Seats

Because of a new state law, two of the four open seats on the Washoe County school board were decided in yesterday’s primary. Candidates who get more than 50% of the vote are declared winners and don’t have to go to the general election. Incumbent Angie Taylor in District E got 53% of the vote over Paula Ward. Newcomer Scott Kelley in District A got 54% of the vote over Dale Richardson. Kenneth Grein will face Malena Raymond in district D in November. The vacant District G seat had eight candidates looking to fill it, that races has been narrowed down to Katy Simon Holland and Bill Horn.
