Drone Pilot Interrupts Fire Fight

As firefighters tried to get in the air over the Hawken Fire late Wednesday night, there was a near miss between the Raven Helicopter, and a drone operating illegally over the site.  Raven pilot Doug Russell says when firefighting aircraft encounter a drone, they have to land and assess the situation. That slows the firefight.  Deputy Russell suggests anyone who operates a drone, should go to FAA.org, and learn the rules. A drone in the wrong place, can take a helicopter out of the sky, putting lives at direct risk.
