A public memorial service was held yesterday for two BLM firefighters killed in a vehicle crash last Sunday north of Winnemucca. More than 400 people gathered to honor 27 year old Jacob O’Malley and 22 year old Will Hawkins. Among them was Governor Brian Sandoval who thanked the men for their sacrifice.  Both men and a third firefighter were returning from a service call in Denio on Sunday, July 10th, when a tire blew out on their engine.
