South Lake Tahoe Police report an alarming increase in burglaries this summer. Since July 1st there have been 54 reports of thefts from front yards, unlocked cars and businesses that display products in front of their stores. Officials say it’s probably not the same people in all the crimes. Police remind you to lock your car doors, which is a great deterrent for thieves. Also, lock your bike when you make a stop, and keep your garage door closed, so thieves can’t make a quick get away with items you store inside.
