Crews with the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District knocked down a house and garage fire on Lakeview in Verdi.  When firefighters arrived after being called about 7:30 Tuesday evening, the house was fully engulfed. It took more than an hour to extinguish the flames, as there are no hydrants nearby.  There is no word regarding a cause, and crews say overhaul will take considerable time.
