High Court Rejects Solar Initiative

It looks like a referendum on the states solar policies won’t be on the November ballot. The State Supreme Court has disqualified the initiative that would have restored net metering at more favorable rates to solar customers and the rooftop solar industry.  The court unanimously ruled that the “Description of effect,” in the initiative, which explains the impacts of the measure,  was inaccurate, misleading and argumentative. The PUC is still considering “Grandfathering” the favorable rates to customers who installed or applied to install rooftop solar before last Decomber 31st.
