Crews remain on scene of the Owens River Fire burning north of the Owens River Road near Clark Canyon. According to the U.S. Forest Service, the fire is estimated to have burned 6,000 acres and is currently 10% contained. The Mono County Health Department has issued a stage 2 air pollution health advisory. Crews are focusing their efforts along the Owens River Road to protect nearby private developments and ranches. The Big Springs Campground and nearby ranches and developments have been evacuated. Those evacuation orders remain in place this morning. The cause of the fire is under investigation, though officials say it appears to be human-caused.
