Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt is filing another federal lawsuit. This time he’s challenging the Department of Labor’s new overtime rule. Laxalt claims the rule will will lead some employees to be reclassified as hourly workers, with the potential of reduced hours and pay. The complaint urges the court to prevent the implementation of the new rule before it takes effect, December 1st. Under the change, all employees are entitled to overtime if they work more than 40 hours, and earn less than $913 a week—including state and local government employees.
