Suspect Identified in Gardnerville Stabbing

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has identified one of the two men involved in a knife fight outside a liquor store in Gardnerville, on Friday night. They say 51-year-old David James stabbed another man in the chest around 5:44 p.m. outside of Ranchos Liquor on Langley Drive. The victim was flown to Renown, his condition has not been released. James was apprehended a short time later by Washoe Tribal Police. He had a cut on the hand and was also taken to Renown where he was treated then transported to the Minden jail. James is been charged with attempted murder, battery with a deadly weapon, and burglary. His bail has been set at $150,000.
