(Winnemucca, NV) – Winnemucca police have arrested a man in connection with a death investigation. Officers arrested 34-year-old Mathew Lee Eaton on Thursday and charged him with open murder, first-degree murder and child abuse with substantial bodily harm after his infant son was found dead in April. The boy was unresponsive when Eaton allegedly took him to Humboldt General Hospital, but he was resuscitated before being transported to Renown Hospital. The boy died two weeks later. Police say evidence collected during an investigation helped deem Eaton as the suspect.
