Expect Delays on I-80, U.S. 50

If you’re traveling over to Lake Tahoe’s south shore, or attempting to cross the Stateline into California on I-80, you’ll likely see some delays as the Nevada Department of Transportation is fixing several roads this week. They’re concentrating on potholes that formed following the last storm system on 80 in the Gold Ranch and Verdi area, and they’re shoring up the shoulders in areas that have seen rocks fall and mud slides on Highway 50, particularly in the Logan Creek area near Cave Rock.  Crews should have the pothole repairs on I-80 complete this Wednesday. There’s no estimated time for Highway 50 to reopen near Cave Rock, but Kingbury Grade is open, and NDOT suggests taking that as an alternate route into South Lake Tahoe.
