Pyramid Lake Repairs Will be Expensive

Damage to waterways and shorelines around Pyramid Lake have been pegged at nearly 4 million dollars. The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe plans to pay for the damages from a settlement in 2014, the Fish Springs lawsuit. Another seven million dollars will be spent by the Nevada Department of Transportation to restore, SR 446 which collapsed in some spots. That work is being done on an emergency basis and could be completed in March. Pyramid Lake remains closed to boating and fishing, but could see a partial re-opening within two weeks.
