The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that occurred in Cold Springs early Thursday morning. According to the NHP, the accident happened on northbound U.S. 395 near the Cold Springs Valley exit just before 12:30. The driver apparently went off the road and hit a road sign. Washoe County Sheriffs Office is assisting with the investigation, they believe speed is a factor.

NHP also investigating a three-car accident that killed one person on U.S. 50 near Soda Lake Road in Fallon. According to NHP, seven people were involved in the crash, five were transported to the hospital. US 50 was closed during the investigation.
