A standoff between a distraught person barricaded in a vehicle and Sparks Police on the side of Pyramid Highway early Tuesday, closed the road for hours, and left one person dead.  Sparks police got a call around 4:45 in the morning on reports of someone with a gun inside their vehicle on BLM land in between Disc Drive and Queen Way.  Police aren’t saying how the unidentified person died, but they have confirmed to KOH that there was no officer involved shooting during the incident.
