Nevada Outpacing The Nation When it Comes to Employment

Nevada’s unemployment rate hit 4.8%, so for two straight months it’s been under 5% for the first time since late 2007. So what’s driving the good results? Increases in construction and hotel and casino jobs, according to state economist Bill Anderson at the Department of Employment and Training. Construction jobs are up 8.3% over last year, professional and business services jobs were up nearly 5%. Anderson says this is the 56th consecutive month that Nevada job growth has outpaced the nation.
