Get Rid of Unwanted Prescription Drugs Saturday

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and Join Together Northern Nevada joining community partners Saturday, to help residents rid their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.  Medicines that remain in home cabinets are highly susceptible to misuse, and abuse.  From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. this Saturday, residents can bring unneeded prescription drugs (in the original containers with the names marked out), prescription liquids, pet medications and “Sharps,” to any of the following locations:

Raley’s at 18144 Wedge Parkway,  Walgreens at 10370 North McCarran Boulevard, Save Mart at 4995 Kietzke Lane,  Smith’s at 175 Lemmon Drive.They can be dropped off in Sparks at CVS Pharmacy at 680 North McCarran Boulevard, and Walgreens at 3000 Vista Blvd. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. Permanent drop boxes for unused medications are located in the lobbies of the Reno Police Department, Sparks Police Department and Washoe County Sheriff’s Office.
