A pedestrian was hit by a big rig and killed near Fernley Sunday night.  The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating. Trooper Dan Gordon says about 9:30PM, the pedestrian was in a travel lane on I-80 about 15 miles east of Fernley. The truck driver stopped and is cooperating with investigators. No name has been released and troopers don’t know why the person who was hit was in the road.
