With Nevada’s “Economic Forum” projecting 96 million dollars more in revenue that their previous projection. The scramble to spend that money is on. Governor Sandoval would like the bulk of it directed to K-12 education, democrats in the legislature are O.K. with that, but also want to expand mental health and job training. Maybe the most relieved by the news is the Washoe County School District, it’s facing a 30 million dollar shortfall, and has just approved early retirement buyouts for 113 teachers. Whether they can expect to be bailed out, remains to be seen.
