Former Attorney General Responds to Claims From The Current Attorney General

Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, a former Nevada Attorney General, is responding to claims of possible ethics violations by current Attorney General Adam Laxalt, and the suggestion that she did the same things when she was A.G. Spokeswoman Sarah Zukowski released a statement that says when Cortez Masto represented the Gaming Control Board in litigation between private parties, she was upholding her responsibility as AG to represent the Board, when court decisions had the potential to affect its independent regulatory authority. Nevada lawmakers are calling for public hearings after the state’s top gaming official provided a sworn statement saying meetings Laxalt held with his top political donor, and Laxalt’s subsequent legal advice, may have amounted to corruption.
