Marijuana Funding Passes Senate And Assembly Subcommittee

The funding to regulate Nevada’s new recreational marijuana industry has passed the Senate and Assembly Subcommittee on General Government. The bill includes 3.8 million over two years to pay salary and travel costs, and ten million dollars for local governments to regulate the businesses. $344,000 will also be used to enhance security at the Department of Taxation’s offices in Las Vegas, Henderson, Reno and Carson City. Security is a concern because so much of the marijuana business is cash.
