Truckee Meadows Fire quickly contained a small brush fire burning in Verdi Tuesday afternoon. The fire started on Stoneridge Drive near Summerset Drive just after 12:20 p.m. The fire was about 50 feet by 100 feet and with the help of a construction water truck nearby, the flames were fully surrounded within 15 minutes. No word yet on a cause, but a person who reported the fire said they saw a downed power line in the area. While crews were finishing up at that fire, they were dispatched to a second small brush fire in the area of Mogul Road and W. 4th Street. That fire was also quickly contained.
