(KOH) – A 27-year-old Fernley man died early Saturday morning in a fall off a cliff in his pickup, between Painted Rock and Wadsworth. Storey County Sheriff Gerald Antinoro said Saul Arellano had driven down a narrow dirt road and after coming to a locked gate, tried to turn around and ended up going down the cliff. He was last seen alive at about 2am. His truck ended up upside down next to the railroad tracks, and a Union Pacific freight later clipped it at 8:12am, triggering the investigation. The victim was alone in the truck at the time of the crash. The U.P. suspended train traffic on Saturday morning but it had resumed by Saturday afternoon.
