Sparks Police have arrested a driver accused of hitting a motorcyclist and then leaving the scene.
The crash between a pickup and a motorcyclist happened Monday in the 700 block of Spice Island Drive. The motorcyclist was taken to a hospital. Information about his condition has not been released, but his injuries were initially considered serious. Police identified the suspect as 52-year-old Robert Totman of Fernley. They tracked him driving on  Greg Street. Totman is charged with Leaving the Scene of a Crash Causing Substantial Bodily Harm for leaving the scene of the initial crash. He can’t be charged with DUI for the crash itself, because he was not found within two hours of the initial collision. He’s also being charged with a Red Light Violation and Failure to Maintain a Travel Lane. The victim is 32 year old Cody McGowen.
