Lyon County Taking Flood Precautions Along Walker River

The West Walker River is flowing  at 3060 cubic feet per second at the Hudson Gauge in Smith Valley. Neveda Department of Transportation is concerned about the river in Wilson Canyon coming out of the banks. Based upon these factors the Office of Emergency management is requesting Lyon County Search and Rescue to assist with notification protocols to residents near the Walker River that the river will rise and they may have to evacuate. At this time this notice is advisory only. Lyon County has partially activated the Emergency Coordination Center at the Administration Complex in Yerington.
