Firefighters with the North Lyon County Fire Protection District have knocked out a house fire in Fernley. The fire was reported about 12:30pm Monday on Mountain Rose Drive. Firefighters say the home was fully engulfed in flames when they got there. They don’t know yet how the fire started. They say the house is a total loss. Nobody was home when the fire started and there are no reports of injuries. Firefighters were concerned about at least one other home being threatened, but flames were confined to the one home. North Lyon County was assisted by Central Lyon County and Storey County firefighters.
