The Winnemucca Ranch Road Fire is now close to full containment at 4799 acres. All evacuation orders have been lifted. The fire burned three structures on Amy Road, and for a time threated 58 structures. Cause is undetermined. The fire destroyed the home of a volunteer firefighter, in spite of the fact that he cleared 50 feet of defensible space around it. Mike McGuire and his wife had lived in the home for 37 years, and he says they lost everything.
