Crews with the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District made quick work of a 3 acre wildfire that was threatening homes in Lemmon Valley. The Chickadee Fire was knocked down in about 90 minutes. At least six fire engines and three air tankers responded to attack the fire, which was started by target shooters. The fire was in the area of Chickadee Drive and Hungry Valley Road and was reported just before 5 o’clock yesterday afternoon.
