Washoe County Social Services and St. Mary’s Health Network are teaming up to help foster kids get the supplies they need for the school year. In Washoe County, there are plenty of foster kids affected who stand to benefit from this drive. Mikie Franklin of Washoe County says they have 900 kids in the system. There are 2 drop-off locations for this drive: Saint Mary’s Medical Group administration at 411 W. Sixth Street, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saint Mary’s Fitness Center at 645 N. Arlington Ave., during business hours seven days a week. Organizers ask that the supplies donated be new. All types of school supplies are accepted. The drive runs until August 16.
