Public access to Nevada’s State Capitol is being expanded to include Saturday hours. The 146-year-old silver-domed Capitol – the centerpiece of state government located in the heart of Carson City – will be open to the public on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., beginning Aug 19. Free one-hour guided tours by docents from the Nevada State Museum will take place at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. each Saturday and include both the exterior of the building and nearby memorials as well as the interior of the building. The tours are available for up to 20 people on a first-come, first-served basis.
