Interstate 80 near Sparks Boulevard will see lane closures throughout the rest of the week as the Nevada Department of Transportation completes installation of roadway sensors so they can gather data on road usage. Single lane closures will effect both directions of I-80 between McCarran and Sparks boulevards through Friday, Sept. 1 between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. The Sparks Boulevard on-ramp to westbound I-80 will be closed during the same time frames. Minor travel delays should be expected, and drivers are reminded to travel safely and follow reduced speed limits through the work zone. Similar lane closures took place earlier this summer for the first paving phase of construction.
