Two Local Teens Win State Fire Poster Contest

(KOH) – The Nevada State Fire Marshal has announced the winners of the 2017 Fire Prevention Week poster contest.  Local winners were Ashley Figuera from Carson in the high school category, and Chase Carpenter from DePoali Middle School in Reno in the middle school category.  They both will receive a plaque and their artwork will be displayed on billboards.  This year’s theme was “Every Second Counts: Plan 2 Ways Out!”, and was sponsored by the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Nevada Department of Education, Fire Prevention Association of Nevada, and local Nevada fire departments.
