395 Back Open After Being Closed For The Cutter Fire

Crews from Sierra Front, BLM and East Fork Fire are fighting a brush fire that broke out shortly after noon yesterday northeast of the intersection of Highway 395 and Leviathan Mine Road, south of the Gardnerville Ranchos. The Cutter Fire has burned between 400 and 500 acres, down from an earlier estimate of 650 acres, and there is no containment, according to crews on scene. Investigators say the Fire was started accidentally, with a chainsaw. The Nevada Highway Patrol says Highway 395 is back open after being closed between Riverview Drive in the Gardnerville Ranchos and SR 208.
