Four horses have been struck and killed by vehicles in Reno since the beginning of October. City officials have had signs posed warning drivers to slow down and keep an eye out for horses. Since mid-August, the Reno Police Department has received 13 calls related to horse and vehicle disturbances. Councilwoman Naomi Duerr says officials plan to keep the warnings in place for about 30 days while the staff determines what to do about the crashes moving forward.
