Nevada Dept of Ag, Wild Horse Advocates Break up

After four years, the Nevada Department of Agriculture is terminating its cooperative agreement with the American Wild Horse Preservation Campaign. AWHPC sent notice they would not be fulfilling the agreement, and the NDA now seeks a new coordinating partner that has the tools and resources needed to manage feral livestock. NDA Director Jim Barbee says, NDA’s number one priority is to protect public safety, and that requires collaboration between state, local and nonprofit partners. Until a new agreement is signed, report horses near unfenced highways or roadways in the Virginia Range area, by calling 353-3709.
