School District Accused of “Dishonesty” Over Wildcreek Plan

A Reno and a Sparks City Councilman are accusing the Washoe County School District of dishonesty over the plan to build a High School on what is now the Wildcreek Golf Course. Paul McKenzie of Reno and Ed Lawson of Sparks are also predicting the project will cost 300% more than current projections, according to the Reno Gazette Journal. Both appeared at a town hall meeting hosted by the “Save Wildcreek” group. Both the councilmembers will have a chance to impact the project. Lawson is a board member of the RSCVA, which operates the course, and McKenzie is a member of the district’s Capital Funding Protection Committee.
