CALTrans has decided to close some roadways prior to worsening weather conditions. Highway 4 from Silver Creek Campground to Lake Alpine closes at noon Thursday. Sonora Pass has already closed from Pickel to Kennedy meadows over the weekend. They’re keeping Monitor Pass open for now, but that could change if enough snow accumulates. The passes close every year when the snowy weather set in, usually in November or early December.
