Nevada Connections Academy Allowed to Keep Its Charter

The Nevada State Public Charter School Authority has made an agreement with Nevada Connections Academy, to keep its charter for two more years to give the school time to raise its graduation rate. NCA is an online charter school that is a traditional public school alternative for students K-12. According to NCA, the Authority has been pursuing the revocation of its charter based on its graduation rate being under 60%, as calculated under federal non-regulatory guidance. Nevada state law gives charter authorizers the authority to revoke a charter if a school’s high school graduation rate is below 60%. But NCA says it isn’t mandatory.
