Nevada Ranked Third Worst For Cybercrime

Nevada is now ranked third worst in American for Cybercrime. In 2016, Nevadans lost more than $15 million to internet crime—costing the average person more than $4,000. In total, 33,404 people were impacted directly by cybercrime. Women in particular fared the worst, and men and women 40–49 reported the most cybercrime. California is ranked the worst state in the country for total reported cybercrimes, fraud, and identity theft per capita in 2015 and 2016, followed by Florida, Nevada, and Texas. Nationally, men fell victim to cybercrime 75 percent more often than women and Alaska, surprisingly, ranked highest for men victimized. D.C. had the highest number of victims ages 30-39, and in Vermont people under 20 were hit the hardest.
