Jacky Rosen Says No Pension For Corrupt Politicians

Congresswoman Jacky Rosen co-sponsored Republican Congresswoman Claudia Tenney’s “No Pensions for Corrupt Politicians Act,” which would close an existing loophole that allows members of Congress convicted of bribery, perjury, conspiracy or other crimes to continue collecting their taxpayer-funded pension. Rosen says when a Member of Congress is convicted of abusing the powers of their office, they should have to forfeit any claim to taxpayer-funded pensions. Rosen says she’s proud to work across the aisle on commonsense legislation and for policies that root out government waste and putting taxpayers first. In March, Rosen sent a bipartisan letter to House appropriators urging them to prohibit the use of taxpayer money for first-class flights for Members of Congress.
