The City of Reno is inviting you to the Tree Lighting ceremony from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday Dec 6,  at Reno City Plaza. First Street between Virginia and Center Streets will be closed from approximately 5 to 7 p.m. Reno City Councilmember David Bobzien will also speak about the importance of the Reno People Project. The next 21 Reno People honorees have been invited to participate in the Tree Lighting ceremony and be formally recognized. The festivities begin at 5:30 p.m., and includes live entertainment and music, and the Tree Lighting is scheduled to take place around 6:35 p.m. Then from 6:45 to 8 p.m. it’s free ice skating at Greater Nevada Field.
